Le Phuong Nhi (Sam) is a performance and installation artist based in Saigon, Vietnam. She explores themes of Natural Self, Space, and Time through familiar materials and objects with potentially metaphorical meanings. Her work retains the human element and focuses on abstract and organic forms. Nhi considers performance art as a ritual practice and aims to create a safe space where her spectators can confront their true selves and egos. Discovering new methods of experiencing art for audience is her main and long-term subject. The artist intends to create a space where her spectators have some kind of control, and to get them involved in the art practice. By doing this, hopefully each audience can form his or her own idea of observing art, and eventually find more connection with it.
