This March, Hoa Sen University’s Art House Saigon will hold Mini Docfest, a series of documentary and experimental films, in Ho Chi Minh City for the first time.
San Art and Hanoi DocLab have co-selected a number of experimental films / documentaries by young film makers from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh city. The two-day film screening will include discussions with professor Michael Brynntrup (Hanoi DocLab instructor), film maker Truong Minh Quy, and mephim’s co-founder Tran Minh Duc amongst others.

Trương Minh Quý, 1990, was born in Buon Ma Thuot, a small city in The Central Highlands of Vietnam. Childhood memories and hometown’s landscape are the material throughout his films. In his films, he has experimented to combine the abstract concepts-images with the realistic improvisations during the shooting. His films have been selected in the international film festivals and international exhibitions such as Locarno, New York, Clermont-Ferrand, Oberhausen, Rotterdam, Busan, VideoBrasil, Les Rencontres Internationales Paris/Berlin....
