Sopheap Pich (b. 1971) was trained as a painter in The United States, but returned to his country in 2002. His art employs natural materials, primarily rattan and bamboo, to weave and form abstract, representative and metaphorical artworks. His conceptual sculptures refer to Cambodian historical memory and their divergence between traditional culture and modern life.
