Biography

Eleonore Tran is a PhD candidate at Université Paris 8. She graduated in Art History at Panthéon Sorbonne University and in Literature at Paris Cité University. Her research combines artistic, sociological, and historical studies. Her thesis focuses on the different ways in which photography serves as a memory material within the Vietnamese diaspora. Through the analysis of works created by contemporary artists from Vietnam, she observes how photography operates as both a fragment for reconstructing the past and as a medium for establishing new narratives of self and community. She has written for several art spaces in Vietnam, including Vincom Center for Contemporary Art, Mơ Art Space and Photo Hanoi’23.
