From January 2017, San Art will enter a new phase. We will explore a spaceless operation while maintaining the strategic facilitation between artists and the local/international art industry. The focus of our 2017 will be an educational program for aspiring local curators. San Art will invite professional curators to Ho Chi Minh city to conduct workshops for local practitioners (who might have yet to call themselves curators), giving practical advices on how to utilize their distinctive strengths to effectuate the very concepts they have applied into the program with. At the end of this closed-workshop series, San Art will assist the participants to realize their proposals. We look forward to introducing the aspiring catalysts to the scene here!
What’s more, San Art will collaborate with Ca Phe Thu Bay Tre (264B Nam Ky Khoi Nghia street, District 3) to form a public Reading Room with dedicated space for discussion and workshops. San Art welcomes two of the organization’s founders, artists Dinh Q. Le and Tuan Andrew Nguyen, to return as its Directors. Under their leadership, San Art will continue to promote artistic interdisciplinary practice both locally and internationally.
San Art will close the current premise to relocate our Library from 18 December 2016. We will make sure to update you with further developments. Please stay tuned!
