Exchange residency: Bamboo Curtain Studio (Taiwan) and San Art

Bamboo Curtain Studio (Taiwan) and San Art have partnered up for another year in a residency exchange program. 2013 saw artist Lena Bui travel to Taiwan (read her story here); this year, San Art Laboratory welcomes artist Chou Chien-Pang from Taiwan in Ho Chi Minh City for a 4-week residency in July.

Bamboo Curtain Studio (BCS) is member of Res Artis, initiator of Intra Asia Network for AIR & Artists’ mobility, regional representative of International Network of Culture Diversity and Arts Network Asia, country representative for World Culture Forum Asia-Pacific. It aims to promote cross-cultural exchanges by providing a meeting point for visitors from national and international art related fields, for short visits or specific projects. www.bambooculture.com

Artist Chou Chien-Pang got his Law degree from National Chengchi University, took a nine-to-five job immersed in politics years before turning his joy of sharing, his drawings, his wandering around galleries into strenuous art practice. Deeming himself a “newbie” in art world, the now-MA artist is bringing to Vietnam his on-going “Project Connection”, a wish “to encounter people in life journey and interact by drawing to co-create an artwork and establish connection”. It is with great pleasure that San Art Laboratory welcomes artist Chou Chien-Pang in July 2014. We wish him a fruitful residency, and look forward to connecting with him in Vietnam!
