Called the “science of real life” by historians Carlo Ginzburg and Carlo Poni, “𝗺𝗶𝗰𝗿𝗼𝗵𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆” describes an approach to 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 that employs what we could think of as a 𝗺𝗶𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝗰𝗼𝗽𝗶𝗰 𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘀, focusing on seemingly irrelevant details, habits and routines, and underlying mentalities.
