A decade of making sculpture in Cambodia

In a very rare occasion to hear about Cambodian contemporary art in Vietnam, internationally renown artist Sopheap Pich (b.1971) will share his life as a contemporary artist living and working in Cambodia. Trained as a painter in The United States, Sopheap Pich returned to his country in 2002. His art employs natural materials, primarily rattan and bamboo, to weave and form abstract, representative and metaphorical artworks. His conceptual sculptures refer to Cambodian historical memory and their divergence between traditional culture and modern life....
