‘Encounter’ is a 3-year cultural lecture series initiated by San Art and presented in partnership with the Tri Viet Centre for Social and Educational Research in Ho Chi Minh City. ‘Encounter’ forms part of a larger artistic program called ‘Conscious Realities’ that is sponsored by a Network Partnership between the Prince Claus Fund and Sàn Art.

‘Encounter’ will showcase 8 internationally renowned creative thinkers, from interdisciplinary backgrounds, to speak on contemporary developments in art, cultural theory, social science, history, architecture, literature, music, film, or new media.

Professor Ngo Bao Chau’s inaugural ‘Encounter’ lecture will discuss the common ground between an artist’s and a scientist’s work, addressing how he perceives artists as seeking rigor in their work in a fashion equal to scientists, especially mathematicians, who similarly look for ideas of beauty.

You can watch the video of the lecture here (in Vietnamese), or you may download the lecture content in English from the link above.
